A strong workplace safety program doesn’t happen by accident. It requires solid planning and a firm commitment to continuous improvement. Whether you are just launching your safety program or setting out to improve an existing one, it is crucial to first assess your current performance level, understand the strengths of your safety program, and identify opportunities for improvement.

But assessing your own safety program performance is only half of the equation. It’s equally important to have a clear benchmark when assessing your safety program so you can compare your program against those of similar organizations and set realistic performance targets.

This webinar will introduce you to the VelocityEHS Safety Program Self-Assessment – our free, interactive, and easy-to-use tool for performing a systematic evaluation of your workplace safety program. We’ll also look at key findings and conclusions from our recent benchmarking study conducted with EHS Today, “The State of Workplace Safety in 2024” to illustrate how companies like yours are managing their own safety programs and where the field of EHS is moving.

Register today to be part of an in-depth conversation with VelocityEHS safety experts Marc Juaire, CPSA, Kristi Hames, CIH, CSP, and Greg Duncan, MELP, CSP, who will walk you through the assessment, demonstrate how it can help you advance your workplace safety program performance, and discuss key findings from the recent EHS Benchmarking Survey to help you compare your own safety program to those of fellow EHS leaders.

Topics covered will include:

  • Using the self-assessment to evaluate current safety program performance within your organization
  • Interpreting your assessment results to identify existing strengths, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
  • Developing a systematic approach to safety program improvement to take your safety program to the next level
  • A review of key findings from the 2024 EHS Benchmarking Survey to help you compare your safety program to industry peers and competitors.

OSHA Top 10 2023

OSHA recently published a long-awaited final rule to update its Hazard Communication Standard (HazCom) to align with Revision 7 of the UN’s Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). This final rule has been a long time coming, given that OSHA had indicated as early as Spring 2018 that updates to HazCom were a top regulatory priority for the Agency, and had published its Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) in February 2021. It took almost three years for OSHA to sort through and analyze stakeholder feedback on the NPRM en route to developing the final rule.

The rule has finally arrived, and it brings significant changes, including revised classifications for several categories of hazardous chemicals to align with the classification criteria of those chemicals in GHS Revision 7, as well as new requirements for container labeling and safety data sheets (SDSs). These changes will impact everyone throughout the supply chain, including your organization. This on-demand webinar has the information you need to ensure you maintain compliance with OSHA’s updated standard.

In this on-demand webinar, you will learn:

  • Background and regulatory activity leading up to the 2023 final rule
  • Major changes associated with the rule, including the categories of chemicals most affected
  • The timeline for changes going into effect, and how you can prepare
  • How chemical management software can help you achieve and maintain HazCom compliance
